Principal SW Systems Engineer
Position Description
Minerva Engineering has been given the responsibility of performing independent test and evaluation for a classified software system currently in use with an expanding customer list. Tasking to support this project will include the development of a formal software test and evaluation process as part of the software build cycle. This process will have to be integrated into the system as a formal element of the overall build process. In addition, Minerva Engineering will perform Independent Test and Evaluation of the software system employing rigorous methodologies for evaluating the correctness and functionality of the product throughout the software delivery life cycle. This process is intended to serve as a means to generate confidence in the SW performance through early identification and correction of functional or performance deficiencies specifically related to customer deployments. A key element of this activity will be the evaluation of performance characteristics of the SW through the generation and evaluation of objective data. The system is a web-based software product (uses IE7/IE8 and firefox) with a wide diversity of customers. Testing will need to encompass the specific needs of the various customers as well as the data products.
This position will require the successful candidate to have a thorough knowledge of SW test and evaluation processes, software test documentation requirements, configuration management, software integration, regression and system test environments, defect management, the software product life cycle and the software build process.

Software Test and Evaluation Skills:
- Experience performing SW test and evaluation
- Knowledge of how the software build process works (in general)
- Knowledge of the software life cycle
- Experience with requirements management processes
- Experience with configuration management processes
- Experience with and knowledge of SW test documentation requirements
- Experience with integration, regression and system test environments and the associated development and defect fix cycles
- Experience with functiona and operational testing
- Experience with software test automation
Specific Requirements
Software Test and Evaluation Skills:
- 10-15 years experience performing SW test and evaluation or the SW build life cycle process
- IE8/IE7, Firefox software testing and configuration
- Ruby/Ruby on Rails knowledge (highly desired)
- TAC project experience (highly desired)
- Clearcase/ClearQuest, SourceSafe, or other Configuration Management toos
- Software/Build Integration tools (e.g. Rational products)
- SW/Developmental Test Applications/drivers/utilities (e.g. any COTS automated test tools)
- Issue Tracking Tools/Defect Management Tools
- TS Security Clearance required.
- TS/SCI desired.
Educational Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other SW related field or
May trade degree for 5 additional years of experience
