Senior Systems Engineer
Position Description
The Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for evaluating highly complex secure systems under development to identify vulnerabilities, requirements non-compliance and issues relating to government certification. The successful candidate will utilize their wide range of experience in software and/or hardware engineering (to include testing) to participate in working groups, attend meetings and travel to government and/or contractor sides in support of the program.
The Sr. Systems Engineer will provide critical lessons leaned and guidance and will perform trade studies, cost benefits analyses and systems analyses based on experience in similar applications to those implemented in the Operational Command and Control organization (C3, C2I, Nuclear Command & Control, large distributed systems). Position Requirements
Responsible for planning and coordinating extremely complex engineering projects. Activities may consist of systems planning, performance management, capacity planning, testing and validation, benchmarking, information engineering, and development and staffing of a systems engineering plan. Provide comprehensive definition of all aspects of system development from analysis of mission needs to verification of system performance.
Excellent communication skills and use of traditional SE tools (requirements management tools, etc.) and office tools (MS Word, Excel, etc.) are required.
- 10 years of experience as a systems engineer performing typical SE functions to include requirements synthesis, requirements management, architecture design, verification and validation, trade studies, etc.
- 7 years of experience performing systems engineering on DoD projects which can vary widely and can included C2 systems, intelligence systems, communication systems, space systems, large distributed network and data management systems, etc.
- 5 years of experience in at least two of the following fields that include but are not limited to: information technology, system design, system testing, production management, system planning, system analysis, concept development, integration, test and evaluation, integrated logistics support interfacing or life cycle management. The intent behind this requirement is to ensure that the candidate has sufficiently diverse discipline background.
- 5 years experience in at least two DoD engineering projects, each to include at least one of the following domains: command, control, communications and Intelligence (C3I), computers, information assurance, or cryptographic systems. The intent behind this requirement is to ensure that the candidate has sufficiently diverse domain background.
