Minerva Engineering Announces the Sole Source Award of a Contract to Develop Subsystems for the TTCS System for the US Army

Phoenix, Arizona - February 28, 2005


Minerva Engineering announced today that is has been awarded a sole source contract (W911W6-05-C-0048) by the US Army Aviation Technologies Division (AATD, Ft. Eustis, VA) for the development of prototype power and signal conditioning subsystems for the Army's TTCS Air Traffic Control System.

Minerva Engineering will be responsible for designing the prototype systems, procuring the materials, integrating the subsystems and testing them in accordance with the requirements for the overall system. In addition, Minerva Engineering will be integrating the prototypes into the system which is mounted in a HMMMWV.

The work will be performed at Minerva Engineering’s Rapid Prototyping and Integration Facility (RPIF) located in Huntsville, AL. It is the first large integration and prototyping activity to be conducted at Minerva Engineering's facility in Huntsville, AL.

Tony Burgett, Minerva Engineering's manager for the Ground Systems Group located in Huntsville, AL and the program manager for this effort commented that "We are eager to get this activity underway and I believe that there are several opportunities to improve the design effectiveness and suitability of the system for the warfighter".

Minerva Engineering became a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) in September, 2003 with the inclusion of several key members of the technical staff as owners of the company who happen to be Service-Disabled Veterans. PL 108-183 (FAR Subpart 19) establishes SDVOSB set-aside authority for government agencies and prime contractor, contract managers to award sole-source contracts or to restrict competition for new contracts to SDVOSBs.
