Minerva Engineering Receives ISO 9001-2008 Quality Certification
Mesa, AZ - September 30, 2009
Minerva Engineering, Inc, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, today announced that it has received an ISO 9001-2008 certification. Building on the quality efforts instantiated as part of Minerva Engineering’s ISO 9001-2000 certification, an independent authority has determined that Minerva’s quality control and manufacturing processes, organizational responsibilities and application of existing quality procedures quality for the ISO 9001-2008 updated standard certification.
"This ISO 9001-2008 certification is a clear demonstration that the quality processes put in place as part of the original certification are being well-implemented,” said Robert La Bella, president of Minerva Engineering. “As with the earlier certification, the attainment of a quality certification improves not only our products but our competitive position in the systems engineering, software and rapid prototyping industry.”
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international committee that has compiled sets of rules or regulations for the way companies operate and for the records they keep on their manufacturing and service processes. By following a set of rules, a company helps ensure that it consistently produces quality products and provides quality services, and that products are produced the same way, every time. The new certification was the result of successfully passing an independent surveillance audit conducted by National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI). Dan Ownby, Minerva’s Quality Assurance Manager, stated: “The audit resulted in no significant findings at the Mesa, Maryland and Huntsville sites. This is clear evidence that our quality management system is continuing to improve.”
Minerva Engineering is headquartered near Phoenix, AZ with offices in Huntsville, AL and in the greater Washington DC area.
